Tampa Bay Trounces Boston

For the second time this preseason the Boston Red Sox traveled to Port Charlotte to play the Tampa Bay Rays. And for the second time there was an eight run differential and for the second time the Rays beat up the Red Sox. Tampa Bay began the onslaught with one run in the bottom of the first inning, which Boston answered with one run in the top of the second inning. The Rays would take the lead in the bottom of the second by scoring three runs and never relinquished it. The Red Sox would go on to score six more runs - one run in the fifth, three runs in the seventh, and two runs in the eighth. Due in large part to the errors committed by the Red Sox, the Rays would score five runs in the sixth and six runs in the eighth. The final score was Tampa Bay fifteen and Boston seven.
