BOSTON: 2 0 1 0 0 0 3 1 0 - 7 14 1
PITTSBURGH: 0 1 1 2 2 0 2 1 x - 9 13 1
A half dozen homers cleared McKechnie Field today, unfortunately two-thirds of them were by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thank you Ortiz and Hermida for your combined three runs producing yardsters. It was only in the number of hits that the Boston Red Sox outdid the Pirates in the game. Well, the hitting came back to the Red Sox and they scored one run for every two hits, but it just wasn't enough against the Pirates. As his outing today was poor, perhaps Beckett came back too soon from his illness, though he does need the innings. Come on Boston - five losses in a row?? You can do better. You MUST do better!
