Red Sox Take Twins, 6 to 4

BOSTON: 0 0 0 2 4 0 0 0 0 - 6 10 0
MINNESOTA: 3 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 - 4 5 2

Could it be that the Boston Red Sox are aiming for road warrior status? If so, I'm all for it. This win in Hammond Stadium was accomplished without the starting pitching of Josh Beckett (he's ill), but did see the first appearance of catcher Jason Varitek. Although the Minnesota Twins came out strong, they weren't able to increase their lead enough to overtake the Red Sox after they scored in the middle innings. And of course Boston's relief pitching kept the Twins to just one hit after the first inning. The Red Sox picked up the hitting pace and were able to claim another road victory. They are home again tomorrow. Road, home, road, home. Such is the life during the pre-season.
