My Comment: I was planning on going to my favorite New England sports living bar today to watch the game, but a running event put all the bus transporation on detour and from past expereince I know that getting to the bar would have taken forever and completely annoyed me. However, I am not annoyed by the outcome of the game. The Boston Red Sox win the rubber match of the series and end up being the only American League East team with a victory this Sunday. How sweet is that! Next stop for Boston is Baltimore.
And speaking of Maryland, I'd like to give a shout out to Matt and Becca, the son and daughter-in-law of a college friend, who travel from that state to watch the Phillies play Sunday home games. Now that's the way to support your team. And in other Boston/Philadelphia sports news - the Celtics and the Sixers are tied at two games apiece in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Go Celtics!
BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Josh Beckett; Winning Pitcher: Josh Beckett (4)
PHILADELPHIA: Starting Pitcher: Cliff Lee; Losing Pitcher: Cliff Lee
BOSTON: Homeruns: Mike Aviles (8), Jarrod Saltalamacchia (7)
Red Sox: Wins 20, Losses 21, Percentage: .488
Next game: Monday 21 May 2012, 4:05 p.m.PT/7:05 p.m.ET, Baltimore Orioles, Oriole Park, Clay Buchholz
