Red Sox highlight: Seven hits
Red Sox lowlight: Starting pitching
Tigers highlight: Five homeruns
Tigers lowlight: Five men left on base

My Comment: Two games played and the Boston Red Sox have an average of one run per game - this from the top-scoring team in the Majors? Granted it could be worse, but not by much. The Red Sox need run production to offset the pitching by its starters and relievers. Without their powerful bats, Boston is looking at a long, lackluster season. Where's the luster?

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Josh Beckett; Losing Pitcher: Josh Beckett (1)
DETROIT: Starting Pitcher: Doug Fister; Winning Pitcher: Duane Below
DETROIT: Homeruns: Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Alex Avila

RED SOX: Wins 0, Losses 2, Percentage: .000

Next game: Sunday 8 April 2012, 10:05 a.m.PT/1:05 p.m.ET, Detroit Tigers, Comerica Park, Clay Buchholz
