Red Sox highlight: One homerun
Red Sox lowlight: Four men left on base
Athletics highlight: One homerun
Athletics lowlight: One fielding error

My Comment: Congratulations to David Ortiz on blasting his four hundredth career homerun and accepting his one thousandth career walk in this losing game against the Oakland Athletics! Ortiz also scored both Red Sox runs today. Guys, I wrote sweep the Athletics, not be swept by the Athletics. Granted a number of former Red Sox players (Crisp, Moss, Reddick) did significant damage against Boston, but this should have been a winning road trip against below .500 teama. What will happen this weekend against the Yankees who are definitely not below .500??

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Aaron Cook; Losing Pitcher: Aaron Cook (2)
OAKLAND: Starting Pitcher: A. J. Griffin; Winning Pitcher: Grant Balfour
OAKLAND: Save: Ryan Cook
OAKLAND: Homerun: Brandon Moss
BOSTON: Homerun: Davis Ortiz (22)

Red Sox: Wins 42, Losses 40, Percentage: .512

Next game: Friday 6 July 2012, 4:10 p.m.PT/7:10 p.m.ET, New York Yankees, Fenway Park, Josh Beckett
