My Comment: What an unnecessary loss. Boston comes back and to lose by a wild pitch is not acceptable. Not good at all.

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Jon Lester; Losing Pitcher: Brandon Workman (3)
YANKEES: Starting Pitcher: Hiroki Kuroda; Winning Pitcher: Mariano Rivera
BOSTON: Homerun: Will Middlebrooks (15)

My Comment: Just a little extra from Boston gives the Red Sox the win in the first game of a four-game series against the Yankees. As usual, it should be a good series with long games. No matter, as long as the Red Sox win, it is worth however long it takes

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Jake Peavy; Winning Pitcher: Craig Breslow (5)

Great hitting and relief pitching by the Red Sox. And it's another series win. Boston goes on the road to visit the Yankees. Let's continue tonight's hitting game in the Bronx tomorrow.

My Comment: The Red Sox decidely evened the series with a great display of hitting (season high eighteen hits) and homeruns (including a grand slam). The final game of the three-game series should be amazing - the Yankees wanting redemption and the Red Sox wanting more distance in the standings.

My Comment: No sweep, but Boston has started well this season with thirty-five hits over three games for an average of 11.66 hits per game and seventeen runs for an average of 5.66 runs per game. As John Farrell returns to Toronto for the first time since becoming Boston's manager, let's hope the Red Sox do him proud and play as well against the Blue Jays as they did against the Yankees. Or should I say "play even better"?

My Comment: Welcome to the 2013 season of Major League Baseball and the rebounding season for the Boston Red Sox. For the first time in two years, the Red Sox have won their season opener and happily it was a victory against the New York Yankees. This will be a winning year for Boston and I am looking forward to writing more postive comments than I did in 2012. Great job guys! Take a break and come back on Wednesday and do it even better.
