Red Sox Best Blue Jays In Rubber Game, 3 To 1

Teams1st2nd3rd4th5th6th7th8th9thRunsHitsErrors
Red Sox020001000360
Blue Jays100000000172

Red Sox highlight: Relief pitching
Red Sox lowlight: Twelve men left on base
Blue Jays highlight: One homerun
Blue Jays lowlight: Two throwing errors

My Comment: As is typical Red Sox fashion, the game after one with a huge hitting display is usually marked by quieter bats. That was borne out today as Boston had nine fewer hits in their win over Toronto than they did yesterday. No matter, the Red Sox won the series and that is what counts. Now the team is off to Texas for a three-game series. Will probably have a tougher time in Texas than they did in Toronto, but I'm sure good things will happen.

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Ryan Dempster; Winning Pitcher: Ryan Dempster (2)
TORONTO: Starting Pitcher: J. A. Happ; Losing Pitcher: J. A. Happ
BOSTON: Save: Joel Hanrahan (4)
TORONTO: Homerun: Brett Lawrie

Red Sox: Wins 20, Losses 8, Percentage: .714

Next game: Friday 3 May 2013, 5:05 p.m.PT/8:05 p.m.ET, Texas Rangers, Rangers Ballpark, Felix Doubront
