My Comment: The Red Sox win another series and come closer to having home field advantage in the postseason. This was the last home game of the regular season and Boston goes on the road to finish up the 2013 season before returning to Fenway Park to begin the postseason.

TORONTO: Starting Pitcher: R. A. Dickey; Losing Pitcher: R. A. Dickey

My Comment: No advancement on obtaining home field advantage in the play-offs for Boston. If they want to have a hundred-game winning season, then they can't lose any more games. Let's do it Red Sox!

TORONTO: Starting Pitcher: Mark Buehrle; Winning Pitcher: Mark Buehrle

My Comment: American League East Champions!!! The Boston Red Sox haven't been the division champions since 2007 (and we know what happned that year in October). Not sure I like the slogan "We Own The East" - seems a little over the top. The postseason starts for the Boston Red Sox on Friday 4 October 2013. And oh, the Red Sox won the first game of a three-game series against the Blue Jays tonight in Fenway Park. They'll be going for the series win tomorrow.

My Comment: No series win for the Red Sox. There was hitting by Boston, but the stranding of a dozen men on base was a key factor in Boston not being able to get the victory. Now it's back to Fenway and the New York Yankees.

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Jake Peavy; Losing Pitcher: Jake Peavy (5)

My Comment: Boston wins the series on another ninth inning dramatic score. Toronto made an error and the Red Sox got the winning run in from second. Lots of jumping up and down at first base - great way to end the month of June as the Boston Red Sox become the first American League team to reach fifty wins!

My Comment: Boston did cool down the Blue Jays, though they did show some heat towards the end of the game. Another save for Uehara. Lester gets the win and I hope he does not have anything seriously wrong as he had to be taken out of the game with some sort of injury. Good win Boston!

My Comment: Not the best homestand that the Boston Red Sox have ever had - they went two and five. The rally just wasn't enough to make it a game. Don't know why Boston had such problems with fourth and last standing teams. Perhaps the Red Sox will find more happiness on the road as they start a nine-game road trip on Tuesday.

My Comment: As is typical Red Sox fashion, the game after one with a huge hitting display is usually marked by quieter bats. That was borne out today as Boston had nine fewer hits in their win over Toronto than they did yesterday. No matter, the Red Sox won the series and that is what counts. Now the team is off to Texas for a three-game series. Will probably have a tougher time in Texas than they did in Toronto, but I'm sure good things will happen.

My Comment: No club record for the number of wins in April and the first time this season that Boston didn't win the first game of a series. However, the Red Sox end the first month of the 2013 season not only in first place in the American League East, but also with the best record in baseball. Boston will start May in an excellent place.

Super Red Sox Shutout Baffles Blue Jays, 13 To 0

My Comment: Love the hitting and homerun game the Red Sox demonstrated today! And the shutout payback was just a extra bonus in a suberb Boston win. Great combination of power and pitching that sends the Red Sox to Fenway with a winning road record to start the season for the first time in two years. Wish I was on the plane with the team on their way back to Boston - lots of happy people on that flight! Tomorrow is Boston's home opener and coming off a win like today is a wonderful emotional state to play the game against the Baltimore Orioles. Over this Toronto series, Boston averaged 6.33 runs and 9.66 hits per game. And, by the way, the Red Sox are in first place all alone. Yeah!!

My Comment: Thanks to Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia the Red Sox avoid being no hit, but not being shutout. Though I am no fan of John Lackey, it was distressing that he had he had to leave the game with a strained right bicep and that Alfredo Aceves had to takeover. Let's get some more hitting and win the series tomorrow!

The long ball finally happened for Boston, including a ninth inning insurance blast by Middlebrooks. Boston lead or tied, but was never behind and had double digit hits. Onto another series win!
