Sixteen Runs Not Sixteen Innings Give Boston The Win Over Baltimore, 15 To 10

Red Sox highlight: Eight runs in the eighth inning
Red Sox lowlight: Seven men left on base
Orioles highlight: Two homeruns
Orioles lowlight: Derek Lee's fielding error

My Comment: In contrast to yesterday/today's extra-long, minimal hitting game against the Rays, the first game of this series against the Orioles was the usual nine innings and had lots of hitting. And in both cases, the Red Sox won! With lots of sleep, no sleep, or in their sleep the Boston Red Sox are phenomenal! A great start to the second half. Red Sox are still in first place in the AL East!

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Tim Wakefield; Winning Pitcher: Dan Wheeler (2)
BALTIMORE: Starting Pitcher: Brad Bergesen; Losing Pitcher: Michael Gonzalez
BOSTON: Homeruns: Jarrod Saltalamacchia (7), Josh Reddick (4)
BALTIMORE: Homeruns: J. J. Hardy, Adam Jones

RED SOX: Wins 58, Losses 36, Percentage .617

Next Game: Tuesday 19 July 2011, 4:05 p.m.PT/7:05 p.m.ET, Baltimore Orioles, Oriole Park, Kyle Weiland
