Orioles highlight: One homerun
Orioles lowlight: J. J. Hardy's fielding error
Red Sox highlight: Two homeruns
Red Sox lowlight: Seven men left on base

My Comment: Homerun against Zach Britton and almost a "hit" against Kevin Gregg for Big Papi today. No hugs for Baltimore anytime soon. It was a crazy eighth for Boston and Baltimore. First there was the foreshadowing of events to come when Oritz objected to being pushed back from the plate several times by Gregg, but was restrained by home plate umpire Mike Estabrook and, although players from both teams came on the field, no punched were thrown then and both teams were warned. But when Ortiz hit a right field pop up, Gregg said something to Ortiz as he was going done the line and this time Estabrook could not catch Papi as he went after Gregg. Then the bench-clearing brawl began. At the end Ortiz, Gregg, along with Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Baltimore's Jim Johnson were ejected from the game. Stay tuned for fines, suspensions, appeals and reductions.

BALTIMORE: Starting Pitcher: Zach Britton; Losing Pitcher: Zach Britton
BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Josh Beckett; Winning Pitcher: Josh Beckett (8)
BALTIMORE: Homerun: Derek Lee
BOSTON: Homeruns: David Ortiz (19), Dustin Pedroia (10)

RED SOX: Wins 53, Losses 35, Percentage .602

Next Game: Saturday 9 July 2011, 4:10 p.m.PT/7:10 p.m.ET, Baltimore Orioles, Fenway Park, John Lackey
