Red Sox highlight: Adrian Gonzalez's three hits
Red Sox lowlight: Five men left on base
Rays highlight: James Shields' pitching
Rays lowlight: Seven men left on base

My Comment: So the Red Sox nine-game win streak ends with a whisper. Barely any sound from Boston today as they are shutout for the first time since Sunday 29 May 2011 at Detroit by the Tigers. On a positive note, Jacoby Ellsbury has been named AL Player of the Week. He is the third Red Sox player in a row to receive that honor. Way to go Jacoby! Despite the loss and an apparent win by the Yankees, Boston will remain in first place in the AL East. The new streak starts tomorrow!

BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Tim Wakefield; Losing Pitcher: Tim Wakefield (2)
TAMPA BAY: Starting Pitcher: James Shields; Winning Pitcher: James Shields
TAMPA BAY: Homerun: Justin Ruggiano

RED SOX: Wins 39, Losses 27, Percentage .591

Next game: Wednesday 15 June 2011, 4:10 p.m.PT/7:10 p.m.ET, Tampa Bay Rays, Tropicana Field, Josh Beckett
