Baltimore Breaks Boston

BALTIMORE: 0 1 0 0 0 0 3 0 0 3 - 7 14 0
BOSTON: 0 0 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 2 - 6 13 1

It is a BRS and BC day in my favorite New England sports living bar. Both the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics are playing this morning and both are going for sweeps. Looking forward to a day of joy! The bar already has five people who are here for the Celtics. Red Sox people will show up soon - Rich, Lisa, John. Two plays to Beltre - two errors (only charged with one) - such is the new Boston defense. Both teams are behind - not a good sign of things to come. Now the Celtics have pulled ahead, while the Red Sox are still trying to score their first run. The lead has left the Celtics, however the lead has come to the Red Sox. The cheering level in the bar alternates between the two teams - at least there are some things to cheer about. Mike Lowell pinched hit, got a run-scoring double and then left - specialty rules. The Celtics lost - will have to play another day. In the meantime, Terry took Tim out with two outs in the seventh and two on in Fenway Park. Why, Terry why?? Then Okajima gave up a homerun and now the game is tied. What is it with three-run sevenths and Boston relief pitching?? Some people have left the bar, but many are still here to watch the end of the Red Sox game. Let's hope we get have at least half-joy today. Well, I'm in the danger zone again - dart players (Molly and Jeremy) to my left - flying projectiles do add to the bar experience :) . And we are in extra innings! But Boston relief pitching does it again - three runs in the tenth for the Baltimore Orioles. Although they gave it a great try, the Red Sox only manage to get back two runs. No sweeps for the Red Sox and the Celtics today. There is no joy in Boston and in the bar.
