Minnesota Blanks Boston

The Boston Red Sox end their first road trip of the 2010 season with an error-ridden, no run-producing disaster. I should stop being amazed at the lack of hitting that occurs after a game in which the Red Sox have a large number of hits. It is just Boston's modus operandi and the Minnesota Twins definitely took advantage of it today in Target Field. All three Boston errors were committed by new members of the Red Sox - yes, this is called learning defense using the on-the-job-training method. Not quite the best way to do it in actual games that count. Today's bright spot was Dustin "Power" Pedroia who had fifty percent of the Red Sox hits and now has a .405 batting average. Amazingly, Dustin is leading the team in homeruns with four of them. Of course Pedroia's batting average may not stay at the .400 level, but the fact that he has reached it is cause for celebration. Way to go Pedrioa!
