Well the game may have been delayed starting by half an hour due to rain, but Lester was definitely warm enough as he had a 1,2,3 first inning. Once again it is Sunday and I am enjoying the game against the Tampa Bay Rays in my favorite New England sports living bar. There are only five of us, not including the bar staff, watching the game - regulars Rich and Lisa, and a man and woman couple (the man has been in the bar before the renovation and pointed out the differences as he gave the woman a tour). A quiet Sunday - a welcome change from last Sunday. I wrote too soon! There are now twice as many of us - some softball players have arrived. After four Rays runs, perhaps the rains should come again! Never mind - it's an official game now. And the noise level has increased in the bar - ugh! Perhaps I was too optimistic when I wrote earlier that I am enjoying the game - I'm beginning to wonder when I will truly enjoy a Boston Red Sox game again. At least Boston was not shutout. There's one final opportunity tomorrow in Fenway Park to have some redemption over the Rays. When was the last time the Red Sox lost all four games of a four-game series at home? Hope the next time is not Monday.
