BOSTON: 1 0 4 3 1 4 0 0 0 - 13 18 0
TORONTO: 0 0 6 2 1 1 0 2 0 - 12 16 0
This game was exhausting and I wasn't even playing, so imagine how the actual players are feeling! The outcome of this first real hitfest of the season for the Boston Red Sox was a marvelous (miraculous?) victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. The game in Rogers Centre was slow (duration of the game) and furious (hit after hit after hit), a combination that alternately provided happiness and despair over the course of the game for both the teams and the fans. Everyone on the Red Sox was played got a hit, except the Leftfielders - that's what it's like to be "out in left field", ha! The pitching just wasn't there for both teams (why did Beckett falter so badly?), but it was the batters who made it an exciting game, though I'm sure an earlier resolution of the match would have been appreciated. What amazes me is that with all the plays, neither team had an error - would not thought that was possible with all the activity in the field. One thing I do think is that tomorrow there will be fewer hits, fewer runs, and perhaps an error or two. Let's hope Boston can keep the momentum going over the next two days and sweep the Blue Jays. Get plenty of rest!
