NY YANKEES: 0 0 2 1 3 0 2 4 2 - 14 17 0
BOSTON: 0 0 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 3 8 1
Three is the number of the day for this long (rain delay in the fifth) game between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. The Red Sox scored three runs in Fenway Park today, the same as yesterday and on both days that was not enough. Boston did have two players who each hit their third homeruns of the season; however one Yankee player had three homeruns in the game. Boston had one less hit than yesterday and incurred one more error today (I should be specific and say one more Beltre error). I don't know what to write - you know there is no salvaging the game when a position player comes in to pitch. What's wrong Boston? You sweep, you get swept, you sweep, and you are about to get swept again. This up and down will not get you a winning regular season, never mind entrance into the postseason. Please get it together. Win tomorrow Red Sox!
