Terry Francona was a left-handed batting and throwing infielder who is now the manager of the Boston Red Sox. Terry made his Major League debut with the Montreal Expos on Wednesday 19 August 1981 when he was twenty-two years, three months and twenty-eight days old. His final Major League appearance was with the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday 19 April 1990 when he was thirty years, eleven months, and twenty-eight days old. Terry made his Major League managerial debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1997 when he was thirty-seven years old. He was hired as the forty-fourth manager of the Boston Red Sox on Thursday 4 December 2003 when he was forty-four years, seven months, and twelve days old. Under Terry's management to date, the Red Sox have made the playoffs every season except in 2006. In 2004 Terry led the Red Sox to their first World Series Championship in eighty-six years. Another World Series Championship was added in 2007. Terry wears number forty-seven.
