BALTIMORE: 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 5 1
BOSTON: 2 1 0 0 0 3 6 0 x - 12 15 2
It was a glorious Patriots Day for the Boston Red Sox as they concluded their four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles with a win, thus recording their first series sweep of 2009 in Fenway Park. The Red Sox continued to show their strength with the bat by the extra-base hits contributed from the top of the lineup - Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz. It's good to see them set the pace. But the real impressive feat of the day was the pitching of Justin Masterson (in the rotation while Daisuke Matzusaka is on the disabled list) while allowing only one run. Batting and pitching - unbeatable combination. The Red Sox have now won five in a row.
