Happy 25th Birthday Jed Carlson Lowrie!!!

Jed Lowrie is a switch-hitting and right-handed throwing shortstop. He is the starting shortstop for the Boston Red Sox, but is currently on the 15-day disabled list due to a sprained left wrist. The wrist will not require surgery and Jed should be back on the active roster by mid-May - perhaps by the time of the homestand series with the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets. Jed made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday 15 April 2008 when he was twenty-three years, eleven months, and twenty-nine days old. The Red Sox played the Cleveland Indians in Cleveland that day and Jed started at third base and had a single in the seventh inning for his first career hit. In 2008 he was errorless in one hundred fifty-five chances in forty-nine games, which set a major league record for rookie shortstops. Jed wears number twelve.
