Red Sox Reign Rays, 9 to 1

TAMPA BAY: 0 0 0 0 1 - 1 4 0
BOSTON: 0 0 8 1 0 - 9 8 0

Yesterday it rained (water) in Fenway Park - no game. Today it rained (runs) in Fenway Park - won game. Great at bats for Boston in the third. And although the rain (water) came in the middle of the game to delay the inevitable, the Boston Red Sox won their third game in a row and have taken the first game of a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays. It was a short game - an official five innings - and it allowed Beckett a "complete" game victory. I know, it's a stretch, but I do like it when pitchers have complete games. And the Red Sox have increased their lead over the Rangers for the AL Wild Card and have also gained ground on the Yankees.
