Dozen Twins Hits Contribute To Red Sox Defeat

Twins highlight: Nine runs
Twins lowlight: Seven men left on base
Red Sox highlight: Two homeruns
Red Sox lowlight: Two balks

My Comment: Today's and yesterday's game - opponents twenty runs, Red Sox two runs - averages out to one Red Sox run for every ten opponent's runs. And what is particularly awful about today's loss is that it was against the team with the lowest number of runs scored in the American League. What is wrong Boston? These two games have seen the opponents with a total of thirty hits to Boston's fourteen - over twice as many! Boston won't be reaching .500 by the end of this series and my hope for an eight and three homestand will not be realized. Playing on empty is not playing at all.

MINNESOTA: Starting Pitcher: Scott Baker; Winning Pitcher: Scott Baker
BOSTON: Starting Pitcher: Tim Wakefield; Losing Pitcher: Tim Wakefield (1)
MINNESOTA: Homerun: Trevor Plouffe
BOSTON: Homeruns: J. D. Drew (2), Adrian Gonzalez (3)

RED SOX: Wins 14, Losses 18, Percentage .438

Next game: Saturday 7 May 2011, 10:10 a.m.PT/1:10 p.m.ET, Minnesota Twins, Fenway Park, Clay Buchholz
