The second game in the two-game series between the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles has been postponed due to rain. No makeup date has been announced as of today. The Orioles’ next scheduled visit to Fenway Park is for a four-game series from Thursday 7 July to Sunday 10 July, the final Red Sox home games before the All-Star break. Baltimore’s final visit to Fenway during the regular season is a three-game series from Monday 19 September to Wednesday 21 September.
In other Red Sox news today, Daisuke Matsuzaka has joined John Lackey on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right elbow. Michael Bowden has been called up from Triple-A Pawtucket to fill Dice-K’s spot on the roster and Mike will work out of the bullpen. Alfredo Aceves and Tim Wakefield will be in the starting rotation
If there is a break in the weather, the next game will be played on Wednesday 18 May 2011, at 4:10 p.m.PT/7:10 p.m.ET, against the Detroit Tigers, in Fenway Park, with Boston Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz.
