BOSTON: 2 3 1 0 0 2 2 0 0 - 10 13 1
TAMPA BAY: 1 0 0 1 3 0 0 0 1 - 6 11 2
The Boston Red Sox demonstrated their run producing ability tonight, which had been exceedingly suppressed in the past two games against the Tampa Bay Rays. I was apprehensive when Wakefield was taken out in the sixth (thought he should have stayed to at least the seventh), but the bullpen came through and did a great job in not allowing the Rays any additional runs until the ninth. Now if the Red Sox can win the fourth game tomorrow in Tropicana Field, that would give them a split of the series and positive momentum heading into the games with the Yankees. And just maybe they would have learned how to win against Tampa Bay.
