Brad Penny is a right-handed batting and throwing pitcher. He is a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Brad made his Major League debut with the Florida Marlins on Friday 7 April 2000 when he was twenty-one years, ten months, and fourteen days old. The Marlins played the Colorado Rockies that day and Brad won his ML debut with the Marlins winning four to three. Brad was traded by the Marlins to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday 30 July 2004. He made his Los Angeles Dodgers debut on Tuesday 3 August 2004 when he was twenty-six years, two months, and ten days old. The Dodgers played the Pittsburgh Pirates that day and Brad pitched a two-hit game and he won his Los Angeles debut with the Dodgers winning three to two. Brad signed a one year contract with the Boston Red Sox on Friday 9 January 2009. He made his Boston Red Sox debut on Saturday 11 April 2009 when he was thirty years, ten months, and eighteen days old. The Red Sox played the Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim that day and Brad won his Boston debut with the Red Sox winning five to four. Brad has been a two-time member of the National League All-Star team in 2006 and 2007. He has a World Series ring for the 2003 Florida Marlins Championship. Brad wears number thirty-six.
