Red Sox Batter Blue Jays, 2 to 1

Home again! The Boston Red Sox are back in Fenway Park and start their three-game series against the AL East leading Toronto Blue Jays with a win. An uncharacteristically low-scoring game, but enough for a good welcome home. Also, it was the first game after the weekend rest for David Ortiz and, for now, the last game for Jeff Bailey, as Kevin Youkilis returns to the lineup tomorrow. Unfortunately, Ortiz did not have a hit, but Bailey did hit a single, driving in the first run of the game. Another shortstop error - help!!! Although he now plays for the Blue Jays, I was glad that Kevin Millar had a longball tonight. Have always enjoyed Millar's enthusiasm for baseball and he did reach first base in the 2004 ALCS game four, which allowed Dave Roberts to pinch run for him. And we all know how that ended!
