NY METS: 0 1 3 0 1 0 0 0 0 - 5 8 0
BOSTON: 0 3 0 0 3 2 4 0 x - 12 16 0
It came a day later, but came it did - The Boston Red Sox win their first game in Interleague play against the New York Mets and take sole possession of first place in the American League East. There was happiness in the New England sports living bar where I watched this victory. Yesterday and today in Fenway Park there were video reviews of questionable homeruns - yesterday's ruling went in favor of the Mets and today's ruling went against the Red Sox. However, Kevin Youkilis made up for the ruling against his "homerun" in the fifth, by belting one over the Monster seats in the seventh inning. A nice comeback. Boston heads out on the road having won four out of the six games in this homestand. They take this last game's momentum with them to the Minnesota Twins where they will play a four-game series. With a smile, I left the New England sports living bar to enjoy the warmth of the day. It is Sunday after all.
