Boston Bests Detroit, 10 to 5

BOSTON: 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 6 0 - 10 13 3
DETROIT: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 5 0 - 5 3 1

Three-hit pitching and aggressive base-running by the Boston Red Sox gave them the second and series win against the Detroit Tigers. Everyone in the Boston starting lineup had a hit and the team batting around in the six-run eighth inning at Comerica Park. But they also had much trouble in the Tiger half of the eighth with an injury, three errors and five Tiger runs. This game should have been a shutout. So the question for today is, what will the Red Sox do about the shortstop position? If this is not adequately addressed, then this lack of a good defensive player will truly hurt the Red Sox down the stretch. Beckett was excellent - he is definitely back!
