One day later, a true welcome home for the Boston Red Sox! The team made plenty of noise tonight and not only were the Red Sox the life of the party in Fenway Park, they were the only life at the party. The Texas Rangers were virtually quiet today. Sounds from the Rangers were barely audible - a couple of hits and one run. Boston had homeruns (Lowell's with a video interlude and Ortiz's second), plenty of run-producing hits, and Lester took a perfect game/no-hitter into the seventh and ended up with his first complete game of the season (thank you Terry!). On Thursday 3 June 2009 against Detroit, Beckett also took a no-hitter into the seventh. Looks like the Boston starting pitchers have found their rhythm and one of them is surely going to get past the seventh inning stumble and have a no-hitter this year. How about a perfect game? Will enjoy writing about either scenario! And by the way, Boston is back atop the AL East. Just thought I'd mention it.
