Red Sox Mash Marlins, 6 to 1

Streaks and milestones were the underlying themes of today's Boston Red Sox game against the Florida Marlins. Jacoby Ellsbury's Major League career errorless streak ended in the first inning out of two hundred thirty-two games with five hundred fifty-four chances. The milestone at Fenway Park was the five hundredth straight regular season home sellout - a new Major League record and the soldout streak will continue. Brad Penny recorded his one hundredth career win and Boston has a two-game winning streak. Outside of this game, Ivan Rodriguez of the Houston Astros passed former Red Sox Carlton Fisk's Major League record for games caught with his two thousand two hundred twenty-seventh game today. At the end of the day, the Red Sox maintain the best record in the American League and they go for the sweep against the Marlins tomorrow. More streaks and milestones to come.
