Clay Buchholz is a left-handed batting and right-handed throwing pitcher. He is a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. Clay made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox on Friday 17 August 2007 when he was twenty-three years and three days old. The Red Sox played the Los Angeles Angels that day in Fenway Park and Clay pitched six innings and gave up four runs in the eight to four victory. Fifteen days later, when he was twenty-three years and eighteen days old, Clay pitched a no-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles in Fenway Park. He was named an American League Player of the Week 2007 and was voted This Year In Baseball Single Game Performance of the Year 2007. Clay wears number sixty-one.
