The Boston Red Sox had their first shut out of the Spring Training season with a win over the Philadelphia Phillies in the City of Palms Park. The only runs in the game were produced on Boston homeruns. Mike Lowell had a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and Chris Carter had a one run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Red Sox shut out the Phillies by a score of three to zero.
