Red Sox Pelt Phillies, 3 to 1

BOSTON: 0 1 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 - 3 7 0
PHILADELPHIA: 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 1 8 1

In this final game of the preseason between the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater, the Phillies were able to score their first run against the Red Sox this Spring Training. A week ago (Sunday 22 March 2009), Boston was able to shut out the Phillies. At Bright House Field today, Philadelphia partially avoided a repeat of last week's result by scoring a run in the third, but they did still end up losing to Boston. The Red Sox had two homeruns in the game - solo shots by Chris Carter in the top of the second and Jacoby Ellsbury in the top of the eighth. Fourth win in a row for the Red Sox.
